The warm weather is finally approaching, so it’s time to start planning your fun in the sun, in and around Drumbo! You won’t be short of summer activities in this close-knit community. Drumbo is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and relish in nature! If you’re new to the area, then take a look at this list of exciting activities you’ll find nearby Oxford Meadows.

Embro Highland Games

Celebrate Canada Day Scottish style at the Emrbo Highland Games! This family-centric event will allow locals to experience unique Scottish culture with a variety of pipe bands and highland dancing and athletic competitions including tug-of-war and the Ontario Heavy Events Championships. There will also be sheep herding demonstrations, agility dogs, Scottish clans and concessions, all with live Celtic music. Also, you’ll find road races and an indoor and outdoor craft area for kids. Finally, top of the day with a roast beef dinner and a licensed refreshment!  

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory

The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is a privately owned Canadian Corporation situated on a 107-acre site that includes a tropical garden featuring 1000’s of free flying butterflies from all over the world. It also has over 100 different types of tropical plants, waterfall streams, reflecting pools, tropical finches, Chinese painted quails and red-eared slider turtles. Enjoy a day at the conservatory with the whole family!

Pittock Conservation

Visit a 2000-acre outdoor playground located in Woodstock! Pittock Conservation is known as the prime destination for fishing and boating. You can also visit to go hiking, camping, swimming, picnicking, mountain biking, birding and much more. Visit this scenic, tranquil spot in Woodstock to experience one of the best outdoor destinations nearby.

Southside Park

Spring is the best time to visit Southside Park! Walk on the gorgeous pathways to find flowering magnolias, cherry and crabapple trees during the first few weeks of May. As summer comes around, over 33,000 tulips will spring to life, creating beautiful colourful accents throughout the park. Walk towards the Southside Park Gazebo surrounded by tulips, with a stunning display of peaceful pastels and plum pudding. Enjoy Southside Park with your family at the expansive play area with swing sets for children of all ages and abilities.

Brantford Twin Valley Zoo

Visit the Twin Valley Zoo to view over 80 different species of animals including Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Birds, Bears, Deer, Alpaca, Primates and several more! The zoo offers educational programs throughout the day, along with several picnic areas, a play area and a nature trail. Take the time to reconnect with nature and animals!
